We strongly suggest to follow us on itch (click on the follow button). Thanks to that you'll get all the news first. Even better solution is to use itch.io desktop client, as this gives you the ability to update the game with minimal effort and download.

Steam page is live now!

Our wonderful Steam page is well on its way. In fact, it’s actually available to admire right now. Take a look at the live preview and give us your thoughts. Of course, sharing is caring! Be sure to send word far and wide. Early Access is not too far away, and we would like to generate some buzz ahead of time without relying on an expensive arrangement of war drums, smoke signals, and shamanistic visions for a change. Add the game to your Steam wishlist, if you’re goblin enough, and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for day-to-day updates. Plus, you can always subscribe to our newsletter if that's your thing to do ;) (click here to do that)

Check out our Steam page here.

Goblins of Elderstone at Gamescom!

Did you know there are goblins in Germany? Or, at least, there will be this year! Goblins of Elderstone is making an appearance at Gamescom 2017. If you somehow found yourself at the event, swing by to give the latest version of the game a bash and raid our swag supplies. We are located at Hall 10.1, Stand C071. Don’t keep the goblins waiting!

Join the conversation!

We’ve been quiet for a little while, which we like to blame on the amount of work hours we’ve been putting in, but in reality we’re just worried that the lack of social interaction has drained us of our ability to words good. However, if you’re willing to accept us for who we are, we would like to take our relationship with you to the next level. We’re talking about having a full two-way conversation. Phew! Let us know if things are moving too quickly. Goblins Of Elderstone now has an official Discord channel! This is a great way to talk to you directly, hear your opinions and suggestions, have a bit of fun, and squash those pesky bugs as quickly as possible. Bring your friends, it’s going to be a blast!

Your (somewhat) exclusive invite awaits you here.

over 6 years ago – Wed, Aug 02, 2017 at 12:43:36 AM

Hello Hello!

Just a very quick update to say that Alpha 3.0 was released and here is the devlog we made for it on the itch.io community. I strongly suggest following us on itch (click on the follow button) in order to see when a new release is out and updated. Best to use the itch.io desktop client, as this gives you the ability to update the game with minimal effort and download.

On a different note, please take part in the final step of the Story Moment backer design challenge. Help shape the game with your suggestions!

Alpha 3.0 is almost done
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jul 21, 2017 at 03:16:08 PM

Greetings Stonekickers

We've been very hard at work on Alpha 3.0 and its almost done. What was supposed to be a 2-3 week development cycle for this release has unfortunately turned into nearly 6 weeks. On paper and in our planning the features for Alpha 3.0 seemed very manageable in a couple of weeks but then as we developed the systems the impact on the other systems became apparent and we ran into some very tricky problems. Alpha 3 is all about FIRE! and we're calling it The Burning :D Fires can be started by goblins when they get too angry with the clan (and in the future from other sources such as story events or random acts like lightning). These fires will burn down buildings and spread along paths as well as the open terrain. They will also burn resources, trees and even goblins. Of course to combat fire we had to add a way to deal with it and for that we added a water well and a new action the peons can perform - fighting fires.

 Fire everywhere!

The feature of "goblins burn things when they get mad" turned into something quite a bit more complicated and larger, but its for the best of the game and we also added a tonne of small improvements and fixes. I will be doing the regular twitch stream today where I will cover a lot of this and answer questions.

Itch release

Our Alpha 2.0 is going well on itch. Its been in the top 10 paid games for the 3 weeks its been out which is very encouraging for us. Itch is a very small marketplace, so its not a lot of revenue for us but the feedback and the visibility has been really amazing for us.

Lots of youtube videos have been made of the game and you can see them all here. The videos are a lot of fun even with the bugs and the comments and thumbs up have been very motivating for us. We also learn so much from watching these content creators play and know what we need to improve.

PAX Australia

We have submitted to PAXAus which is in October and we are very likely to have a booth there again this year. If so it is probably in our best interest to line up our Early Access just before we go to PAX in order to maximize press coverage and give the game the best possible chance to succeed. We do not have a marketing budget so this will be our only real opportunity to make some noise in the press. We'll keep you all updated on that progress and hopefully some of you can meet up with us in Melbourne in October! :D

Thank you for your continued support

Alpha 2.0!!
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 16, 2017 at 08:38:44 PM

Alpha 2.0 has arrived!!!

Hi dear supporters!

Today we announce some very special news and a surprise for everyone! We have been working like crazy to get the Alpha 2.0 version of the game done. We will be releasing this version to the public very soon on itch.io as an alpha release. As a very special thank you to all the game backers (Early Goblin and above) we're also sending you keys for access to the game!! (please look out for these in your email inbox)

Now you might not be the kind of person that wants to play games in an unfinished, broken state, in which case I suggest you hold off and do not play this version of the game and wait until it is complete of at least at the Early Access phase on Steam. This alpha key does not give you access to the forums or any of the other rewards, but we believe it is in the best interest of all of us to get the game out there to you fantastic supporters and give you a chance to play it and give us feedback on the itch community page once it is up (when the game officially releases on there).

I hope you are all as excited as us in sharing the news and getting to this milestone. The next big objective is releasing the game into Early Access on Steam. At this stage that looks like it might be around September but we will keep updating you on our progress.

I will be doing my regular Twitch stream tomorrow (my time) so join me to play the alpha and ask me any questions you might have about it.
